I was watching the NBA playoffs a few weeks ago, when the Houston Rockets were playing the Golden State Warriors. James Harden in his post game interview, made a comment that he wanted a fair chance to compete. This was in regards to the officiating. He felt that he was being fouled on a few questionable plays and never received the call.
When we think of rules most of the time we think of what we can't do. That rules are the there to tell us what we are not allowed to do when it comes to games and to life. However rules can be used to your advantage if you first know the rules, and understand them.
No one uses the rules of golf to their advantage better then my one friend Ryan Yip. This was a few years back when I saw how well he does this. It was at a Web.com Tournament in Knoxville Tennessee. The course was Fox Den. And every year when he plays there it reminds of how knowledgeable Ryan is of the rules of gold and how well he can use them to his advantage.
One of my least favorite social media platforms is Facebook. I dislike it not from how it is setup, the functionality of it, but from how the users use it. I have never read some many negative comments, hateful speech or so much false information in one place. But every now and then I catch myself on there because I get a message or I have to check my ads to see how they are performing. And every time I start to scroll I get sucked into some trolling comment and the flood gates open on the meanest comments ever.
As it turns out, that is not what was meant to be. The podcast I mention, I believe Heath said something along the lines of. That maybe god clears things off your plate to open up space for you to do what god has intended for you to do. And I bet you thought by this title this was about food!
My perspective was he was criticizing everything I was doing, his perspective was he was giving positive feedback on how to improve the content. However every time he did this, I would have to go back and redo it. His feedback was simply an opinion on what he thought looked better, was he right? was I right? no one knows since we are both new at this company so it is simply are perspective. But his perspective and wanting to see the changes caused more work for me, that wasn’t necessary bring any more value to the content, but was for sure going to add work for me.
